Alopecia Areata

Alopecia areata is an autoimmune condition characterized by sudden, patchy hair loss. It occurs when the immune system mistakenly attacks hair follicles, leading to hair loss on the scalp and sometimes other areas of the body.

Types

Alopecia Areata: Characterized by one or more small, round patches of hair loss.

Alopecia Totalis: Complete loss of all hair on the scalp.

Alopecia Universalis: Complete loss of all body hair, including eyebrows, eyelashes, and body hair.
